Elizabeth Wood Dow OBEChair of Governors
Elizabeth Wood Dow OBE
Elizabeth is a registered nurse with over 45 years' experience. She has held various senior management positions in the NHS, the Prison Service and the Inspectorate of Prisons, she was awarded an OBE in the 2015 New Year Honours list for her work with the Inspectorate.
Elizabeth now works part-time as a Freedom to Speak Up Guardian at her local NHS Trust, a post she has held for 3 years.
Elizabeth has been a governor at Manor Mead since 2013, serving as both the Safeguarding lead and Vice Chair, before taking on the role of Chair in November 2024. Consequently, Elizabeth was involved in both the forming of the Federation with Walton Leigh Special Needs School and the full process of joining LSEAT.
Elizabeth is also Chair of Manna the local foodbank in Spelthorne and an active member of the League of St Bartholomew's Nurses, where she has the position of Honorary President until October 2026.

Queenie Wing Yan Lee Chiu
Queenie is a seasoned university administrator with more than 25 years of comprehensive experience in tertiary education. Throughout her career, she has developed hands‑on expertise across a wide spectrum of academic and administrative functions, including admissions, examinations, student records, tuition fee management, and graduation ceremonies. She has also contributed extensively to programme marketing, event organisation, teaching and learning support, and the management of general education programmes. Her responsibilities have further encompassed grants administration, quality assurance, and initiatives focused on student enhancement, peer‑assisted learning, and talent empowerment.
Queenie has provided high‑level executive support to senior leadership, including Directors and institutional committees, and is skilled in the preparation of detailed reports, papers, departmental HR processes, and budgeting oversight. Now enjoying retirement, she remains enthusiastic about giving back to the community through education‑related engagement. Outside of her professional interests, Queenie is an avid reader of literature and a passionate lover of vintage culture.

Emily Hazell
Emily joined Manor Mead as a parent in 2019 and went on to become a Parent Governor in 2022. Since stepping into the role, she has shown a strong commitment to supporting the school community and contributing to its continued development.Professionally, Emily has built a diverse career within charitable arts and cultural organisations, as well as across various educational settings. Her experience spans programme development, community engagement, and supporting creative initiatives that enrich learning environments. This background has given her a deep appreciation of the importance of inclusive, nurturing spaces where children can thrive both academically and personally.Outside her professional and governance roles, Emily is a passionate visual artist who enjoys exploring a range of mediums. She also loves reading nonfiction, drawing inspiration from real‑world stories, ideas, and perspectives. Her creative and analytical interests complement her role as a governor, bringing both insight and enthusiasm to the school community. -
